I am married a Indian man
from India I need to know would I have to hired a lawyer to get some legal
letter saying that my boyfriend coming to usa on a invitation from his
girlfriend calling him and I am taking responsibility
Answer:
It may not be necessary
to hire a lawyer for the purpose. It should be sufficient if you send an
affidavit of support. In case an affidavit is required from your
boyfriend here, then a lawyer may be consulted for drafting the same and
getting it attested by a notary public.

Dear Sir,
It could be of great help
if you can clarify the below questions. I was born in srilanka and came
to India in 1985. I have been living here in India for the past 15 yrs.
But I have only been registered in police since 1990, for our validity
to stay in India. I don't have a valid Srilankan passport. My status is
a refugee status. I have been renewing my registration
every 6 months. In the last April, I have also married an Indian woman
and have registered my marriage in India. Now is there a possibility for
me to apply for an Indian citizenship. If possible how long will it take.
Answer:
You can apply for citizenship
by naturalization forthwith. There is a standard form for the purpose
and you would have to submit the same duly filled up to the local District
Collector.

Sir,
I like to do register marriage
in Chennai, India when I make a visit to India. Please tell me what are
the procedures needed for register marriage in terms of documents.
Thanks
Answer:
If yours is going to be
a Hindu marriage, then you could perform the marriage and then get the
same registered the same day or the next day. If it is to be under
the Special Marriage Act, then you have to give a notice of 30 days and
then register the marriage. You have to submit proof of age
and of residence pertaining to you and your spouse and of the marriage
(if it is a Hindu marriage) eg. Passport, School certificate, bank passbook
etc. You would also need two witnesses.

Sir, I'm working in a bank
and studying in madurai Kamraj University by corres. If we want to get
books, we will have to pay their fees by max 2 instalment. I've sent my
first instalment money and got half books and I was sent my second instalment
on mid December 2000. I've not got books. After waiting more than 3 months
i have called by phone to univ and got not proper answer. So I went to
unive by last week of april, they informed me that they have not got the
draft, so they told me to send another draft. As I am working in a bank,
I approached my madurai bank and they confirmed that till that day they
have not got draft in clearing. So next day I cancelled the draft and sent
the univ to new draft and within 1 week I got books. But unfortunately
after one week I got letter from univ on 17th about the exam schedule,
centre is trichy. But exam starts on 16 h itself, in the mean time my madurai
bank informed me that they have got my old draft in that days clearing.
So I am not able to write that exam. What should I do. till that date that
draft has gone where. I need answer. legally what is the solution. please
tell me sir. I'm waiting for your reply.
Answer:
It appears that the university
is at fault as they must have misplaced your earlier draft. You could
make a representation to them for holding a supplementary examination;
if they fail to do so, you could move the high court by way of a Writ Petition.
Alternatively you can seek compensation for their negligence by filing
a suit.

We are 3 brothers and two
sisters, all are married. My father expired in 1997 leaving a typed
will signed by him and witnessed by two persons on a green paper without
any stamp. He had appropriated the house measuring 1600 (ground +
first floor)in a manner that ground floor will be shared by my elder brothers.
First floor which was constructed by me was allotted to me. We have
not registered the will so far. There is a proposal to sell the house
and share the proceeds. The title deeds are still in the our father's
name only. Can we sell this house now. My mother is alive.
What things we have to do to sell this house. pl clarify me.
Answer:
If the property is in chennai
city then you have to seek a probate from the High Court. It is a
valid will, though it is not stamped or registered. There is nothing to
worry about this. But unless it is probated it would not be
recognized. Yes, you could sell the house thereafter if all the legatees
cooperate, by executing a sale deed and registering the same in favour
of the intended purchaser.

I am already married since
4 years. But from the beginning I am involved in an affair with a girl
with heartily commitment. I would like to marry her with the consent of
my first wife. Legally is there any way I can marry another girl while
the first wife is also living with me?
Answer:
In India it would be illegal
unless you are a Muslim and your first marriage is an Islamic form of marriage.
But none other than your first wife could prosecute you for bigamy.
So several men in India do have second wives. But I am not aware
of the present legal position in this regard in U.K.
