1. Worked as Market Research Supervisor (Free - Lance) at Clarion Advertising Services in 1979 - 1981.
2. Worked as part-time lecturer in Public Administration and Political Theory for Mysore University (Correspondence Course)
3. Worked as Community Organiser in a Slum Development Project at Chennai in 1982 - 1985.
4. Member of Faculty in Process - based organisational programmes for social workers in certain NGOs (1985 - 1986)
5. Panel Lawyer of TN State Legal Aid Board
6. Member of the People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL)
7. Convenor of Forum for Just Law, an organisation for the promotion of human rights and the rights of poor.
8. Under took several legal aid cases and Public Interest Litigation, including cases against mass evictions of slum dwellers, illegal detentions, custodial violence and custodial deaths, illegal retrenchment of workers and denial of statutory benefits minimum wages to casual labour.
