Mutton Mulligatawny ( Milagu Thanni ) Soup
Ingredients
1/2 Kg either goat or lamb cut in small pieces with bones ; Powder up cummin & black pepper as required for flavour ; 6 large cloves of garlic ; 6 medium sized well riped tomatoes ; fresh corriander leaves ;
Method
Boil the meat with the ripe tomatoes in a heavy bottomed stainless steel pan ; Add salt as required ; When meat is done, add cummin, black pepper and chopped garlic ; after about 3 minutes when soup is done take off the stove and add chopped corriander, and set aside, keeping covered. Temper mustard seeds, dried chillies, curry leaves and asfoetida powder in monounsaturate oil and add to the soup.
