cut the vegetables and boil it in water, cook them till they are partly cooked, cook the rice, chop the onions and the tomato, take a vessel, add oil, add the elaichi, cinamon, cardoman, black pepper, once you can smell the massala in the oil add the jeera and the turmeric powder, then add the onions, one the onions are brown add the ginger and the garlic paste, once the paste is cooked add the tomatoes, after the tomatoes are cooked add all the massalas, i.e the dhaniya powder the red chilly powder and the garma massala, once the massala is cooked add the vegetables, then add the curds cook the vegetables and massala for a while, then finally layer the rice that is earlier cooked over this massala, now add the saffron after having it soaked in the milk for a few minutes, close the vessel with a tight lid, cook the rice and vegetables on a low flame without mixing, you need to steam the rice well do so far anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes.
be careful about the flame, keep it as low as possible.
garnish the rice with some fried onions.
