Ingredients
rice-1 cup tuar dhal-1/2 cup sabuth dhania or coriander seed-1tsp chanadhal-1tsp fenugreek seeds-1/4 tsp red chillies-5 to 6 nos tamarind-lemon size salt as required clove-1 cinnamon-small pce cardamom-1no mustard seeds-1/4 tsp asafoetida-little dry coconut-2tsp oil (gingelly oil) 3tsp ghee-3tbsp potato-2 nos mutter-100grms
Method
pressure cook both dhal and rice together cut potato into cubes and boil it with mutter. pour oil in a kadai, and fry coriander seeds, red chillies, asafoetida, channa dhal,fenugreek seeds and then fry cardamom cinammon and clove. now grind all the fried ingredients with dry coconut and keep aside. soak tamarind in 1 cup of water and extract pulp pour oil in a kadai,add mustard seedswhen it splutters, addthe boiled potatoes and mutter.then pour tamarind extract with salt.10 mnts after add the ground paste. now add the cooked rice and dhal and pour balance oil and ghee over it. add fresh curry leaves. serve hot with papad or vadams.
