pressure cook both dhal and rice together
cut potato into cubes and boil it with mutter.
pour oil in a kadai, and fry coriander seeds, red chillies, asafoetida, channa dhal,fenugreek seeds and
then fry cardamom cinammon and clove.
now grind all the fried ingredients with dry coconut
and keep aside.
soak tamarind in 1 cup of water and extract pulp
pour oil in a kadai,add mustard seedswhen it splutters,
addthe boiled potatoes and mutter.then pour tamarind extract with salt.10 mnts after add the ground paste.
now add the cooked rice and dhal and pour balance oil and ghee over it. add fresh curry leaves.
serve hot with papad or vadams.
