Ingredients
Raw Rice - 2 cups Tamarind - a small ball Mustard seeds - 1 tsp Urad dal - 1 tsp Red chillies - 10 Channa dal - a few Hing powder - 1 tsp Curry leaves - a few Jaggery - a small piece Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp Coriander seeds - a few Roasted peanuts - 1 cup Salt - as required Sesame oil - 1/4 cup Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Method
1. Cook the raw rice with 4 cups of water. 2. Heat the pan and fry the coriander seeds and the sesame seeds separately( don't add oil) 3. Powder them separately. 4. Soak the tamarind in a hot water and after sometimes take the extract. The extract must be thick. 4. Heat oil in a kadai and add the red chillies, channa dal, mustard seeds, urad dal. 5. When they have splutterd add the curry leaves, turmeric powder and add the tamarind extract. 6. Allow it to boil for sometimes. When the mixture becomes thick add the jaggery, hing powder, salt, sesamepowder, coriander powder. Boil it for a little time. 7. In a big bowl add the rice and the paste. Allow the rice to cool for sometime. Then add the roasted peanuts and the sesame oil and mix it nicely. 8. Serve it with Potato chips.
