tomato chutney
Ingredients
tomatoes cut finely - 1 kg red chillies-7 to 8 tamarind-small gooseberry sized asafoetida-little salt as required mustard seeds-1/2tsp fenu greek seeds-1/4tsp turmeric powder-1/4tsp gingelly oil or other oil-4tbsp turmeric powder-1/4tsp gingelly oil or any oil-3 tbsp
Method
1. Grind tomatoes,red chillies,tamarind and salt to coarse paste. 2. Heat oil in a kadai,add mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds,asafoetida and turmeric powder. 3. add ground paste. 4. when becomes thick chutney consistency, remove from fire. 5. serve hot or cool with rice, idli, dosa, poori n chappathis. if u use gingelly oil the chutney flavour will b nice.
